Dear Katsura,

Since I'm on a roll writing letters to people in case I get wormholed, you're next on my list.

When I first met you, I never imagined that you would become as important to me as you have. It's true, you've become a very precious person to me... and I'm glad to have been able to meet you. We've had a lot of fun - and weird - times together. Those mornings shopping with you at the super market were some of the best mornings I've ever had.

I've left you my coupons, because I know you'll put them to good use. I've also left you a scrapbook I've put together, with some pictures and pressed things from times we've spent together. It's pretty big! I hope that you'll look through it and smile. I know I have a few times. I wanted to save it to give it to you on your next birthday, but ... oh well. Hopefully it's even bigger by the time this letter even has to mean anything.

Thank you for everything, Katsura. I know we'll see each other again someday, so this isn't a goodbye. But I'm a little worried. You see, you've always reminded me very much of my father... and he was always the kind to get lonely but keep it to himself. I don't want you to be lonely. So, please keep those you care about close. I know that you said one time you were thankful to me for being one of the first people to help you here. If possible, please pass it on. Find someone and get to know them, and stay together. Make some wonderful new friends. Don't be lonely, Katsura.

Until I see you again,
Haruhi.

[Bianca got the tea and was very moved by the gesture! So next morning, Katsura gets an e-card.]

[ france said that his moving in will be a surprise-- he never promised a date, never said when he'll be showing up with an armful of fleur-de-lises and the obnoxious smell of too much cologne. where did he get something that smells identical to guerlain's de coq on this spaceship, anyway?

some things will always be left unknown.

he never promises a date, and he doesn't promise one in the note that he leaves katsura, written in his usual, neat, floral script; unchanged for centuries, lyrically dotted is, elegantly swooping ls and fs. he doesn't leave a date, but he leaves another promise: some things won't change.

it says:
]

Cher ami,

Aimer, ce n'est pas se regarder l'un l'autre, c'est regarder ensemble dans la même direction: love is not about looking into each other's eyes, but in looking, together, into the same direction.

Wherever you may be, rest assured that I'll be looking through your eyes-- because you called me home, and that means you'll always have a piece of me in you. A piece of my home, my lights, my sky, and you'll be the wind in my sails. I told you about ships, didn't I?

My dearest friend, my greatest happiness.

Thank you for letting me love you.

(And don't forget to kiss Elizabeth on the cheek for me. ♥)

[ next to the envelope is a stack of dvds with the note "try to learn a bit of my language, you won't regret it!", a book of recipes ("start small, then bigger!"), and a photo of katsura that france definitely took with his guide at some point (probably when they were watching the ending of amelie together, since katsura looks so happy). subtly taking photos is kind of a speciality of his, and the exasperating evidence should be characteristically france-- yup, killed it, went from romantic straight into creepy.

if katsura flips it over, he'll find yet another note:

"keep this around, it's brother france's treasure! ♥ i'll want it back."
