[ He pauses, mainly because he's not thirsty and the tea is hot, lifts the cup to his mask and drains it. Pakkun makes a move towards the teapot, but Kakashi makes a loose (clearly annoyed) gesture to him and the pug, taking one look at Zura, drops his head and stalks over to sit by Kakashi's side. ]

[ For good behavior, he scratches under Pakkun's chin, just briefly, before dropping his hand to the table where his medical supplies are. ]

[the pain is sharp and extraordinary, and the sheer mortality of the first that Katsura has experienced in quite some time, now]

[it's not even close to the worst pain he's born, however (no physical pain would ever be so)]

[ He assesses the wound from where he's sitting, takes a moment to think and to calm himself down; questions can be asked later, but wounds should be attended to as soon as possible. ]

I'll take the bandages off slowly; you shouldn't bleed at all.

[ If he does this right. But Zura can trust him, right?

He waits for some kind of sign of consent or... not outright refusal. Either of these would be good. ]

[Katsura grunts his assent, eyes trained on the gameshow before them]

[but as Kakashi reaches for the bandages, he barks indignation]

[ -- at the screen]

Haa?! He's going 50/50 on that? It's a trick question! These rookies always make the same mistakes!

[ And he begins unwrapping before Zura can stop being distracted by the television; it's probably better for the both of them. He makes steady work, but they're all off soon, his hands no less skilled than most of the practicing doctors' in the hospitals. ]

This is going to sting a little.

[ Because the first thing he does is to clean the wound off, and how is he supposed to check for redness when it looks like Katsura's skin is just stained that way? He checks for swelling too, signs of infection, considers if he should ask to sew up the wound.

But after the cleaning, first things first: he puts a thumb to Zura's wrist and puts the other hand over his heart. ]
